Do you have a lot of responsibilities?
Do you feel stressed and overwhelmed often?
By the end of the day, do you think I NEED to relax it’s been such a long day?

Very often we choose something like wine, ice cream, or chocolate to help us relax and unwind
The issue with eating or drinking to feel better is that it doesn’t actually get rid of the stress and overwhelm and we don’t address the actual cause!
What to do instead?
1) SLOW DOWN: Acknowledge WHAT you are feeling
2) Identify HOW you are feeling: How does it feel in your body? What are the sensations? Saying it out loud will allow you to see that it might be uncomfortable BUT manageable
3) Allow the feeling to be there and melt INTO it. Don’t try to push it away or try to make it better
Eventually, it will go away without having to respond to eating or drinking.
The feeling might come back BUT just go through the steps again
