Do you have a lot going on?⁣ ⁣
Do you have a lot of responsibilities?⁣ ⁣
Do you feel stressed and overwhelmed often?⁣ ⁣
By the end of the day, do you think I NEED to relax it’s been such a long day?⁣ ⁣
If you said yes to any of those questions, then I can relate! ⁣ ⁣
Very often we choose something like wine, ice cream, or chocolate to help us relax and unwind ⁣
The issue with eating or drinking to feel better is that it doesn’t actually get rid of the stress and overwhelm and we don’t address the actual cause! ⁣

What to do instead?⁣

1) SLOW DOWN: Acknowledge WHAT you are feeling⁣

2) Identify HOW you are feeling: How does it feel in your body?  What are the sensations?  Saying it out loud will allow you to see that it might be uncomfortable BUT manageable ⁣ ⁣


3) Allow the feeling to be there and melt INTO it. Don’t try to push it away or try to make it better ⁣

Eventually, it will go away without having to respond to eating or drinking.⁣

The feeling might come back BUT just go through the steps again ⁣
