Perfectionist Behavior

A lot of us take pride in being a perfectionist. We see it as a badge of honor ⁣
⁣⁣
As someone who used to be a perfectionist, I see it different ⁣

To me perfectionists are people who try to be perfect so others cannot see ANY mistake or give others the opportunity to point out our flaws ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
That’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself!⁣
⁣⁣
Perfectionism keeps us stuck and unhappy because it’s unrealistic⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We are chasing something that will never happen keeping us continually feeling bad that we haven’t “made” it⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Perfectionism is a moving target that we will never achieve ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Why do we do this to ourselves? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Instead :⁣
⁣⁣
➡️ First just be aware that this something you may be or are doing ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
➡️Acknowledge your accomplishments no matter how big or small ⁣⁣

➡️ See ”failure” or ”mistakes” as a indication or growth and that you are still working on getting to your goal but you are on your way⁣
⁣⁣
➡️Appreciate the challenges because when you do achieve it it will mean so much more ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
